Africa is a continent and this is a very broad question, however, to bring it home, Why do Nigerian youths ignore the potentials in agriculture?
Even though we have recorded more youth interest in agriculture in recent times, we still have youths who would rather take their chances elsewhere than in agriculture and this happens for several reasons.
First, is the notion that agriculture is for uneducated people or people in rural areas.
There is also a lack of technical know-how. Most youths are not properly educated in the field of agriculture and do not have the required knowledge to succeed in an agriculture-based business.
There is also hard work to be done from planting to harvest and many would rather skip this. Finally, agriculture is not a get-rich-quick scheme and some youths are not patient enough to build up their profits.
