Climate Change: AGRA Assisting Farmers With Early Maturing Seeds ― Country Director

The Country Director of Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), Dr Kehinde Makinde, has said that farmers in Nigeria are being supported by AGRA with high yielding and early maturing in drought-prone areas in the country.

Dr Makinde who said this during an interview with journalists said AGRA-Nigeria also enhances farmers’ access to other farm inputs like fertilizer, and other crop protection products.

“As a friend to the farmers, AGRA-Nigeria has rolled out key initiatives to help smallholder farmers cope with the adverse effect of climate change.

“In drought-prone areas, AGRA-Nigeria is supporting farmers with high yielding and “early maturing seeds” that are suitable for drought-prone areas. We also enhance farmer access to other farm inputs such as fertilizers, and crop protection products to help them fight pests and diseases like Fall Army Worms (FAW).
